Finders Expands into Greek Hospitality

Israeli company Finders has been active in the Greek real estate market since 2014, with offices in Tel Aviv and Athens. Known for introducing the key investors behind the Brown Hotels fund to Greece, Finders is now making a bold entry into the hospitality market with hotels and short-term rental apartments.

Founded and managed by Amir Mamou, Finders currently oversees assets exceeding €50 million across five private Israeli funds, each worth €10 million. Since 2014, the company has completed over 90 property transactions in Greece, serving more than 130 clients. Its portfolio includes 19 properties—8 large commercial buildings and various apartments—valued at approximately €29 million.

New Hotel Projects in Athens

In 2022, Finders strategically decided to enter the hospitality sector and short-term rental market with its own properties. The company is currently constructing its first hotel at the intersection of 3rd September and Chalkokondyli Streets.

The seven-story building, originally an office and retail space from the 1950s, is being transformed into a hotel with:

  • 49 spacious rooms, starting at 27 square meters
  • A rooftop pool—the first in the Omonia area
  • A gym
  • A ground-floor reception area with dining options
  • The company’s Athens office

Finders also plans to establish its first Real Estate Hub within the hotel, showcasing its properties and offering a meeting space for independent brokers and their clients. The hotel is set to open during the summer season, managed by a major Greek hospitality company.

Art and Smart Technology

The artistic director of Finders, renowned Greek artist Kirios Criton, will create a signature installation for the hotel’s entrance. His works will also adorn the rooms and be available for purchase. The hotel will be a smart hotel, with all operations handled through a cloud-based app—from booking and check-in to tour bookings and check-out.

Additional Developments

Finders recently acquired the small Prigipikon Hotel on Veranzerou Street, which will undergo a full renovation to reopen next year. The company also leased a building on Chalkokondyli Street from the Ministry of Education to convert it into a hotel. Additionally, Finders is finalizing long-term leases for adjacent buildings in central Athens to merge them into a larger hotel project.

Short-Term Rental Properties

Finders is expanding its activity into short-term rentals. Current projects include:

  • 17 apartments in a renovated building at Ipirou and 3rd September Streets
  • 11 apartments in a building in Kolonos
  • A renovated building in Gazi

By the end of 2024, Finders aims to have 40 apartments in its portfolio for short-term rental, including both standalone units and entire buildings. These properties will be managed by specialized firms.

Expanding to Crete

Finders has also been active in Crete, particularly in Rethymno. The company currently has two villas for sale in the region and has completed multiple transactions. Recently, it acquired the closed Skakaki Beach Hotel in Sfakaki, Rethymno, which will undergo a full renovation to be converted into villas. Additionally, Finders purchased two plots in Chania near Kalyves, where it plans to develop short-term rental villas.
